Description

A horizontal view of Lappet-faced Vultures (Torgos tracheliotos) perched on an acacia tree in Ndutu, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tanzania. From their vantage point, the vultures survey the savanna floor during the rainy season, waiting for an opportunity to descend on carrion. Within the southern Serengeti ecosystem, these scavengers play a critical role in the health of the plains. Their commanding presence also makes for a dramatic fine art wildlife print.
