Description

A colorful male Mwanza flat-headed agama (Agama mwanzae), also known as the Spider-Man agama, rests on a warm rock in Tarangire National Park alongside a dull-colored female who meets the camera’s gaze. This pairing highlights the striking sexual dimorphism of the species, where males display vivid red and blue tones while females remain a muted brown. Editorially, such images are valuable in illustrating reptile behavior, basking habits, and gender differences in African agamid lizards. The composition and contrasting tones also lend themselves to fine art presentation, emphasizing balance and harmony in nature.
